This Privacy Policy explains what information Appz collects, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you when you use appz.com.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile information

When you create or use an account, we may collect your name, handle, email address, authentication identifiers, profile photo, bio, website and social links, and account preferences. If you use a third-party sign-in provider, we receive the information that provider makes available according to your settings.

App submissions and owner information

If you submit, claim, or manage an app, we collect the listing details, developer information, images, links, contact information, and verification material you provide.

Community activity and preferences

We collect information about comments, upvotes, follows, collections, badges, alerts, rankings, reports, and other interactions with Appz.

Technical and usage information

Our systems may collect IP address, browser and device type, requested URLs, referral information, timestamps, security events, error logs, and similar diagnostic data. If you accept optional analytics cookies, we also collect aggregated information about how pages and features are used.

Information from others

We may receive public listing information, reports, app ownership claims, and other information from users, app owners, public sources, or service providers.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

create accounts, authenticate users, and provide public profiles;
operate listings, search, rankings, comments, follows, collections, badges, and alerts;
review submissions, verify ownership, prevent fraud, and enforce our rules;
respond to support, privacy, and legal requests;
send service notices and, when requested, newsletters or app alerts;
measure and improve performance, reliability, usability, and content; and
protect Appz, its users, and the public from abuse or security threats.

3. Legal grounds

Where law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide the service you request, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing Appz, with your consent for optional activities such as analytics or marketing, and to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

4. Public information

Public profile details, listings, comments, badges, rankings, and other public activity can be viewed, indexed, copied, or shared by others. Avoid posting personal information you do not want made public. Removing information from Appz does not remove copies previously made by others or already stored by search engines.

5. Email communications

We use your email address for account, security, and service messages. We send newsletters or app alerts when you subscribe or otherwise request them. You can unsubscribe using the link in a message or the available account controls. We may retain a limited suppression record so we can honor an unsubscribe request.

6. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

Appz uses essential browser storage for sign-in, security, anti-forgery protection, load balancing, and preferences. These technologies are necessary to provide requested features. A persistent sign-in may last up to 30 days.

Appz also uses Google Analytics to understand site traffic and usage. Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, which commonly last up to two years. Appz requests IP anonymization and disables Google signals and advertising personalization. You can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings.

Appz also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic, aggregated traffic and performance measurement. Its beacon operates without cookies, and Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data. Appz does not currently use advertising trackers.

Appz uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with pages through aggregated interaction data, such as clicks, scrolling, navigation, and session replays. Clarity may use cookies or similar technologies. You can block or delete these through your browser settings.

7. When we share information

We may share information:

with hosting, database, email, authentication, security, storage, and support providers that process it for Appz;
with Google Analytics for traffic and usage measurement;
with Cloudflare for cookieless, aggregated web analytics and performance measurement;
with Microsoft Clarity for interaction analytics and session-replay insights;
when you direct us to share it or make it public;
to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests;
to investigate fraud, abuse, security issues, or threats to rights and safety; or
as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

Appz does not sell personal information for money and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. International processing

Appz and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers and require providers to protect information consistently with applicable law.

9. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including providing the service, maintaining security and business records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and why it was collected.

When you delete your profile, we delete or de-identify associated information unless limited retention is required for backups, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, suppression lists, or content that forms part of a shared public discussion. Backup copies are removed through normal backup cycles.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent or appeal a decision. You may also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator.

You can edit profile information and delete your account using Appz account controls. You can change analytics consent through Cookie settings and unsubscribe from optional email using the link in the message. For other requests, email us. We may need to verify your identity, and an authorized agent may submit a request where local law permits.

11. California privacy notice

California residents may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request correction or deletion, and receive equal service when exercising privacy rights, subject to legal exceptions. Appz does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control for optional analytics as described above.

12. Children

Appz is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account credentials and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.

14. Third-party services

Appz links to apps and websites operated by others. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one. Review those policies before providing information.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Appz or applicable law changes. We will post the new version and update the date above. If a change materially affects your privacy rights, we will provide additional notice when reasonably required.
