About Aider

An AI-powered coding assistant designed that streamline developers' workflow from the terminal. Aider is an open-source AI pair programming tool that runs in your terminal and lets you collaborate with large language models to edit code directly in your git repository. Aider works with over 100 languages, including Python, JavaScript, Rust, Go, C++, Ruby, PHP, HTML, CSS, and many others. It edits files in place, shows diffs for review, and automatically commits changes with descriptive messages so you can easily diff, revert, or manage them with git. It connects to models like Claude 3.7 Sonnet, OpenAI o1/o3-mini/GPT-4o, DeepSeek variants, and most other LLMs including local ones via compatible APIs. It maps your codebase for context and integrates seamlessly with existing repos, automatically handling commits and version control. It can lint and test code after changes if you have those commands set up, and it often fixes detected issues in the same session.
