About Bookxlate
Bookxlate is a Chrome extension that allows users to perform OCR on pages from Internet Archive books and translate the extracted text using Google's Gemini API.
OCR the current page of an Internet Archive book with Gemini and translate it.
Ever needed to read a book written in a language you don't speak? Tired of copy/paste ad infinitum (that's Latin, see what I did there?) This extension is your answer.
Open an Internet Archive book, set the page view to single mode, and hit the OCR + Translate button. The extension will open a sidebar with the translated text, the original text below it, and finally any historical / contextual background the AI engine thinks you might want to know.
