About Claude Code
Claude Code is Anthropic’s agentic coding tool that lives in your terminal and works directly on your codebase: reading files, planning multi-step changes, editing code, running tests and committing. It is the harness that popularised the model-plus-CLI bundle now copied across the industry, and in Meta’s own August 2026 launch benchmarks Claude Opus 5 running inside Claude Code led Terminal-Bench 2.1 at 86.7% pass@1 and DeepSWE 1.1 at 65.0%. It ships with Claude subscriptions from Pro ($20/month) upward, or runs pay-as-you-go on the Anthropic API.
