Every AI notetaker (Otter, Fireflies, Granola…) records your meetings and uploads the audio to their servers — your salary talks, client calls, roadmaps — then charges $8–30/month, forever. That always bothered me, so I built the alternative. ItsMyPA does the same job entirely on your Mac: records your mic + the meeting's audio, transcribes it, separates speakers, and writes structured notes (summary, decisions, action items) — plus a "chat with this meeting" feature. Everything runs on-device with local models (Whisper + speaker diarization + a local LLM). After a one-time model download, it works in airplane mode. No account, no bot joining your call, free. It's open source, and there's a real demo GIF on the site (a genuine unedited capture — Whisper even mishears "dark mode" as "Darkmo" in it, which I left in). The honest rough edges: Apple Silicon only, and it's unsigned right now because I can't yet justify Apple's $99/year fee — so macOS shows a scary "unverified developer" warning on first launch. The open code is my counter-argument, and paying that fee is literally my first funding goal.
