BATCH CONVERSION
Within the app, you can drag a folder full of Motion Photos for batch conversion. Alternatively, you can select individual images for conversion.

FAST & SIMPLE
The conversion process is easy. Simply drag or select Motion Photos that you wish to convert, choose a destination, and Pinwheel will convert them into Live Photo pairs for you. It is also possible to convert and AirDrop individual photos as Live Photos directly within Pinwheel.

LOCAL & SECURE
No internet connection is needed for the conversion process. All photos are processed locally on your Mac, ensuring that your photos stay secure.

METADATA PRESERVED
EXIF data such as capture date, device model, exposure settings, and lens information are retained in the converted Live Photo.

The app has been tested with JPEG and HEIC based Motion Photos taken from modern supported devices.

Ensure that photos used for conversions are Motion Photos, not regular photos. While a Motion Photo file behaves and looks much like any regular .jpg or .heic image, they contain a short video clip within the image file itself. Pinwheel is able to tell if an image file is a Motion Photo or a regular photo by reading its metadata. Note that unlike Live Photos, not all Motion Photos have audio.
