I feel like there are way too many YouTube videos to keep up with these days. I kept saving videos to watch later, but realistically never had time to go through all of them. So I tried a different approach—getting transcripts of new videos from channels I follow and just skimming summaries using AI features in Gmail and Outlook, and only watch what seems interesting. YouTube recently added a summary feature powered by Gemini, but it doesn’t provide full summaries, so it feels a bit lacking when I want to scan more detailed content. Plus, you still have to visit each video page individually to see the summary, which can be inconvenient. Getting the full transcript delivered by email is just a lot easier to review everything in one place.
