I got completely tired of that bottleneck at our table, so I built Umpai to handle the entire game night experience from planning to the final scoreboard. What is Umpai? Umpai is an end-to-end digital companion for your entire game night. It doesn’t just look up rules—it acts like an ambient, conversational co-host at the table. It handles the logistical overhead of scheduling, running, and tracking a session so you can just focus on playing. How it Works (End-to-End) Game Night Planning & Scheduling: Set up your upcoming sessions, manage player invites, coordinate who is hosting, and vote on what's hitting the table before anyone even knocks on your door. The Live Table UI: Designed specifically for mobile browsers at a physical table. The interface stays out of the way, giving you a clean dashboard to track player turns, manage live scores, and log active states for multi-session legacy or campaign board games. The Grounded Rules Engine: Instead of relying on generic AI that hallucinates or guesses, you upload the official PDF for whatever game you are playing. Umpai uses a Claude-backed engine to answer hyper-specific edge cases based strictly on that document. You can query it naturally via Voice without dropping your cards, or snap a Photo of a confusing card or board state to resolve a conflict instantly. Post-Game Summaries & Tracking: Once the final die is rolled, Umpai logs the results, archives your group's historical stats, and generates automated game night summaries so you can track your wins, losses, and campaign continuity over time. The Tiers Observer (Free): Join any live host session, or host basic sessions with a 20-question daily limit (no custom PDFs). Sidekick ($2.99/mo): Unlimited hosting queries and 1 custom rulebook slot. Player ($7.00/mo): Unlimited custom games, full voice processing, and photo/vision support.
