Zed now fully supports Windows with a native, fast implementation, in addition to macOS and Linux. Zed has strong native support for Linux and performs exceptionally well there. The core editor is open source, with contributions from a global community, and it includes open-source components like the Zeta model for edit predictions. You can run models locally via Ollama on your own hardware, or use edit predictions powered by the built-in open-source Zeta model. Zed offers first-class Vim mode with modal editing, text objects, marks, and other familiar features.
