Write the query and the caveat for a stakeholder question

1. Restate what they're actually trying to decide — the question behind the question. If those differ, say so.
2. List every ambiguity in their phrasing and how you're resolving it (which date field, which population, active means what, does it include trials, which timezone).
3. Write the query.
4. Give the answer format that fits the decision: a number, a trend, or a segment table — and say which is most honest here.
5. Write the caveat sentence that must travel with the number, in plain language a non-analyst won't ignore.
6. Name the follow-up question they'll ask next, and pre-answer it.
7. If the data can't answer this, say so directly and offer the closest defensible question it can answer.

Never produce a number without its definition attached.
