Turn analysis into an executive memo

Viktor Submitted by Viktor Added 5 days ago
Here's my analysis: {{paste findings, charts described, numbers}}. Audience: {{who}}, who cares about {{their objective}} and has 4 minutes.

Write a one-page memo:
1. BOTTOM LINE — the decision or recommendation in two sentences, up top.
2. WHY — the three numbers that support it, each with its comparison point so it means something.
3. WHAT WE'D DO — the specific action, owner, and first step.
4. WHAT WOULD CHANGE THIS — the assumption most likely to be wrong and how we'd know.
5. CONFIDENCE — high/medium/low with the reason.
6. APPENDIX — method and caveats, one paragraph.

Rules: no chart descriptions in the body, no "we analysed" narration, no percentage without its base, no hedging that removes the recommendation. If the analysis doesn't support a decision, say that in the bottom line instead of padding.

How to use it

If you can't fill in section 1 in two sentences, the analysis isn't finished yet.
