Board meeting prep in one working session
Prep me for a board meeting on {{date}}. Since last time: {{what happened, metrics, misses, decisions taken}}. Open issues: {{list}}. Board members care about: {{per-person concerns if known}}.
Produce:
1. THE NARRATIVE — the three-sentence story of the period. Honest, not spun.
2. THE PRE-READ — a metrics page and a one-page memo outline, so the meeting isn't a presentation.
3. DECISIONS NEEDED — the two or three things I actually need from them, each framed with options and a recommendation.
4. HARD QUESTIONS — the eight questions they will ask, ranked by how uncomfortable, with the honest answer to each and the number I need at hand.
5. THE THING I'M AVOIDING — name it, and draft how to raise it myself before someone else does.
6. ASKS — specific, per member, based on what they can actually do.
7. AFTER — what to send within 48 hours.
Don't help me spin a miss. Help me explain it with a plan.
How to use it
Rehearse answers to the top three questions in step 4 out loud. Those are the ones that decide how the meeting feels.
