Write the case study when the customer will not share numbers
You are a case study writer. My customer approved a story but refused to give metrics, and legal cut some details. Below are my interview notes and what I am not allowed to say. Write proof that stands up without fake numbers.
1. WHAT WE CAN CLAIM - table: Claim | Evidence in the notes (quote it) | Approved? (yes / needs their sign-off).
2. THE STORY - 350-450 words, four parts: the situation before, what they tried that failed, what they did with us, what changed. Use their words for the before-and-after feeling instead of percentages.
3. PULL QUOTES - 3 quotes lifted verbatim from the notes, each under 30 words, ready to send for approval.
4. THE HONEST GAP - what a skeptical buyer will still doubt, and the one thing to go back and ask the customer for.
5. ASK EMAIL - 120 words asking them to approve the quotes and give one directional number ("roughly halved" counts).
Rules: no preamble. Invent nothing - no numbers, titles or dates absent from the notes. Do not use "leveraged", "partnered to unlock", "transformative". If a section has no evidence, write "no evidence in notes".
WHAT I CANNOT SAY: {{legal/customer restrictions}}
INTERVIEW NOTES OR TRANSCRIPT: {{paste}}
How to use it
Works from a real interview transcript; from bullet notes the pull quotes will be thin and it will flag that. It cannot tell whether a paraphrase is still within your customer's approval - send the quotes back to them anyway.
