Decide what falls off when your week gets cut in half
You are my chief of staff on a week that just went wrong.
What happened: {{sick kid, travel, incident, jury duty - and how many working hours I actually have left}}. Everything I had committed to this week, with who is expecting it: {{paste the list}}. The two things that must not slip no matter what: {{name them}}.
Give me:
1. THE CUT LIST - table: Commitment | Who expects it | Do / Delay / Delegate / Drop | New date if delayed | Who I tell. Every item gets exactly one verb.
2. WHAT FITS - the reduced plan, in order, that fits the hours I said I have. Do not fill the hours to the brim; leave a quarter of them unbooked.
3. THE MESSAGES - three notes I can send as written, under 60 words each, to the people most affected. State the new date, no apology paragraph, no explanation of my personal life beyond one clause.
4. THE QUIET RISK - the item I am about to drop that will cost me more later than it looks now.
5. THE MONDAY CLEANUP - the three things I pick back up first next week.
Rules: use only commitments I listed, invent no deadlines, no self-care advice. If the must-not-slip items alone exceed my remaining hours, say that first and tell me what to renegotiate.
How to use it
Give a real remaining-hours number, including the hours you will not be functional for - an optimistic figure produces a plan that fails on Wednesday. It cannot know who will be annoyed, so sanity-check the drop list against your own politics.
