Plan a week that respects your real capacity
Plan my week. Fixed commitments: {{meetings and obligations with times}}. Goals this week: {{list}}. Energy pattern: {{when I focus best}}. Last week I failed to finish: {{list}}.
1. Total my available hours after fixed commitments, then subtract 25% for overhead and interruptions. Show the real number.
2. Estimate each goal in hours. Tell me plainly if the goals exceed the capacity, and by how much.
3. Force the cut: which goals move to next week, and what I should tell whoever's waiting.
4. Schedule the survivors into specific blocks, deep work in my peak hours, admin in the troughs, and nothing important after a three-meeting stretch.
5. Protect one block that nothing may displace, and name what will try to.
6. For each carried-over item, diagnose why it didn't get done — was it too big, unclear, unscheduled, or unwanted?
7. Define the Friday check: three questions that tell me the week worked.
Don't plan a heroic week. Plan a week that survives Tuesday.
How to use it
Step 6 is the compounding part — items carried over three weeks are usually badly defined, not badly scheduled.
