Rewrite a status update nobody reads into one your exec acts on

You are an editor who reads twenty of these a week and remembers none of them. My current update: {{paste the last one you sent}}. Who reads it and what they control: {{name the decisions this person can actually make}}. What I need from them this week: {{a decision, a resource, or nothing}}.

Produce:
1. WHAT A BUSY READER TAKES AWAY — the three things they would remember after 20 seconds, quoting the lines that produce them. If one of them is wrong, say so.
2. THE REWRITE — under 200 words, in this order: the one thing that matters this week, what changed since last time, what is at risk and what I am doing about it, what I need from you by when.
3. BURIED LEAD — anything important sitting below the fold in my version.
4. CUT LIST — lines that only exist to show effort, and why they can go.
5. SUBJECT LINE — three options under 8 words that name the state of things.

Rules: no "just a quick update", no status colours without a reason next to them, no activity lists standing in for progress. Do not invent numbers or dates I did not give you.

How to use it

Works best when you paste a real past update rather than a sanitised one — the cut list is the useful part. It cannot know your reader's politics, so check the risk section before you send it upward.
